Olympic team event in Rüdersdorf

Summer just wouldn’t quit this year, meaning that our team event on the outskirts of Berlin was not only sporty, but summery as well. Every two years, the Rüdersdorf Rowing Association Kalkberge, which we have been supporting for more than four years, welcomes us to its harbor.


In line with the motto ‘Business before pleasure’, we kicked off Friday with a team meeting on the shores of the Müggelsee lake. As we are rarely able to all get together like this, we always take the opportunity to discuss current figures, developments and visions from a management perspective, as well as current topics in our specialist areas. We also welcomed new colleagues to the team, including our first work-study student.
Once the work was finished, some of us took the opportunity to sail the Müggelsee and the Spree in small motorboats and to discover the south-east of Berlin from the water.
Afterwards, a varied dinner fresh from the grill and a cozy evening with our colleagues and their families awaited us.
Saturday began as Friday ended – in, on and by the water. We tumbled out of our rooms and onto the MS Arcona, where we were welcomed by the captain himself. Mouth-watering breakfast smells wafted towards us as soon as we stepped on board, promising a delicious breakfast. After two and a half hours spent sailing along the Müggelspree river and the Dämeritzsee and Flakensee lakes, we reached the Kalksee lake.
Together with our families, we enjoyed a varied day of sport, games and fun. A particular highlight was the entertaining presentation by Olympic silver medalist Julia Richter, in which she explained how she motivates herself to achieve top athletic performance every single day.
The day was capped off by a delicious barbecue buffet followed by a cozy gathering around the campfire. Once again, we felt like part of the family at the Rowing Association Kalkberge, and would like to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU FOR THE WONDERFUL DAY.
