{"id":3495,"date":"2017-02-07T13:23:04","date_gmt":"2017-02-07T12:23:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.secuinfra.com\/en\/news\/07-02-2017-ein-besonderer-start-ins-jahr-2017-team-event-in-island\/"},"modified":"2022-04-01T10:28:06","modified_gmt":"2022-04-01T08:28:06","slug":"ein-besonderer-start-ins-jahr-2017-team-event-in-island-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.secuinfra.com\/en\/news\/ein-besonderer-start-ins-jahr-2017-team-event-in-island-2\/","title":{"rendered":"A special start to 2017 \u2013 team event in Iceland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The SECUINFRA team started the new year at an exotic destination: just a few days after New Year, we bundled up and headed to Iceland.<br \/>\n<iframe src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TMcBmKcqkR0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><!--more--><br \/>\nAs soon as we reached the far north, we enjoyed a relaxing dip in the healing waters of the Blue Lagoon (<a  href=\"http:\/\/www.bluelagoon.com\/\"  dpc-external=\"true\"  target=\"_blank\"  rel=\"nofollow\" >http:\/\/www.bluelagoon.com\/<\/a>). While our bodies warmed up in the 39\u00b0C water, we kept a cool head thanks to the -8\u00b0C air temperature.\u00a0Our next stop was Reykjavik, the northernmost capital city in the world.<br \/>\nOn the second day, we began our team meeting with a look back at an eventful and very successful business year 2016, before setting our sights on the year ahead. What will 2017 bring? Where do we stand? Where do we want to go? And \u2013 importantly \u2013 how will we achieve our goals for 2017?<br \/>\nOn day three, our team headed off on a super jeep safari. The adventure began with a visit to the sights of the \u2018Golden Circle\u2019:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Thingvellir \u2013 the spectacular rift between the American and Eurasian continental plates<\/li>\n<li>Geysir \u2013 the namesake of all geysers, and its little brother Strokkur, which erupts with a pillar of water up to 35 m in height every 5 to 10 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Gullfoss \u2013 in one of nature\u2019s most breathtaking spectacles, approximately 2000 m\u00b3 of water plunges down this two-tiered waterfall each second.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>After regaining our strength in the hot springs, we took advantage of the off-road capabilities of our converted Land Rover Defenders. First, we drove over snow and ice, through unspoiled landscapes and past the steep cliffs of the countryside, crossing rivers repeatedly along the way. After this \u2018warm-up\u2019, both the drivers and the super jeeps had to put their skills to the test with an excursion through deep snow aided by the vehicles\u2019 massive tires.
