Cyber security in SMEs: SECUINFRA becomes a member of BVMW – More digital resilience through strong partnerships

Mitglied BVMW

The cyber threat situation for SMEs has changed drastically in recent years. While digitalization, automation and networked processes have long been part of everyday business life, the strategic protection of these digital assets is still lagging behind in many companies.

SECUINFRA has therefore decided to join the Bundesverband mittelständische Wirtschaft (BVMW) – with a clear goal: to specifically strengthen German SMEs in the area of cyber security.

Digital attacks – real damage

Cyber attacks are no longer an abstract threat. Medium-sized companies are increasingly experiencing them:

  • Extortion through ransomware,
  • Business interruptions due to compromised systems,
  • Data loss due to internal vulnerabilities,
  • Loss of customer confidence due to inadequate security measures.

At the same time, it is clear that many medium-sized IT departments are working at full capacity, but are not prepared for ongoing cyber threats. Traditional IT administration quickly reaches its limits when it comes to issues such as threat detection, forensics or incident response.

This is where we come in. With our specialization in cyber defence, we support companies in making their IT infrastructures more resilient – preventively, reactively and strategically sustainable.

Why the BVMW is the right place for this job

The BVMW is the largest, voluntarily organized and cross-industry interest group for German SMEs. Over 300 offices in Germany and a strong international network make it the central platform for exchange, visibility and innovation.

As a member we want:

  • Sensitize IT decision-makers to current threats,
  • communicate practical solutions in an understandable way,
  • help develop long-term security strategies.

One thing is particularly important to us: moving away from scaremongering and towards solution-oriented thinking. Because cyber security doesn’t have to be complicated – it just needs to be consistently thought through and implemented.

Cyber defense is more than just technology – it is part of the corporate strategy

Today, cyber security is much more than a technical task. It is a company-wide process that is closely linked to risk management, compliance, business models and customer expectations.

That is why we in the BVMW network not only talk to IT managers, but also to managing directors, production managers and innovation managers – wherever digital processes are critical to business success today.

Our perspective as a cyber defense specialist complements the technical expertise of many companies with precisely those building blocks that are often missing:

Sharing knowledge, minimizing risks, becoming more resilient together

We see membership of the BVMW as an active invitation to share our knowledge – not in a lecturing way, but in a spirit of partnership. We want to listen, understand, give impulses and suggest solutions that suit the respective company.

Whether at specialist events, roundtables, workshops or digital formats – we get involved wherever it becomes concrete. Our goal:

Making cyber security tangible and enabling SMEs to deal with digital threats with confidence.

SMEs need security that grows with them

Digitalization offers enormous opportunities – but only if security is taken into account. As a new member of the BVMW, we look forward to engaging with entrepreneurs, demonstrating practical security solutions and working together to establish a new level of security awareness in the SME sector.

Because:
resilience can be planned.
Security is not a cost factor, but a competitive advantage.
Cyber defense is now part of the basic equipment of every future-proof company.
