This year’s Digitalization Forum of the German Leasing Association (BDL) is themed “Brave New World – Potentials and Challenges of Cyber-Security and AI in Leasing”. This means that the eighth BDL conference will focus on two topical issues that are currently in the spotlight: IT security and artificial intelligence (AI). Accordingly, the spectrum of expert presentations ranges from the potential of AI and data science for the leasing industry to cyber defense. This is not only about the current threat situation, but also about the regulatory framework for leasing companies. The conference is aimed at decision-makers in leasing as well as solution providers. The event will be opened by the BDL Managing Director, Dr. Claudia Conen, and Guido Feldhaus, SüdLeasing GmbH.
The main topic Cyber-Security will be opened by a keynote speech of Ramon Weil, Founder & CEO of SECUINFRA GmbH. He will present on detecting, analyzing and defending against cyberattacks and talk about an overview of the resulting challenges for the leasing industry. This will be followed by a panel discussion that will address the area of tension – caused by the current cyber threat situation on the one hand, and regulatory burdens on the other. The panel discussion entitled “How much cyber security do we need?” will feature SECUINFRA security expert Dr. Christian Glaser of Kazenmaier Fleetservice GmbH, Alexander Kregiel of msg GillardonBSM AG, and Philipp Oberleitner of NAVAX Software GmbH. Ramon Weil certainly expects controversial viewpoints on the panel: “Given the significant decline in the leasing business climate, I can understand the reluctance to invest. On the other hand, IT security must not suffer as a result. Managed services, for example, are a good option for cost-effectively ensuring a high security standard and meeting all legal requirements.”
The 8th BDL Forum Digitalization of the German Leasing Association will take place on Friday, October 13, 2023, at the Microsoft Atrium, Unter den Linden 17, in 10117 Berlin.
