Earthquakes in Turkey and Syria – SECUINFRA donates 1,000 Euros to Aktionsbündnis Katastrophenhilfe

On the morning of February 6, two major earthquakes struck southeastern Turkey on the border with Syria. More than 16,000 deaths are confirmed as of today, tens of thousands were injured. Many thousands of people have lost their homes and are homeless. For those affected on the Syrian side, the situation is particularly dramatic, as the people are emaciated after twelve years of civil war and have long been dependent on humanitarian aid.

SECUINFRA would like to support the people in this unimaginable humanitarian suffering and has directed a donation amounting to 1,000 Euros to Aktionsbündnis Katastrophenhilfe. The management as well as the whole team are in thoughts with the affected people and their families.

About Aktionsbündnis Katastrophenhilfe

Since 2001, Caritas international, the Deutsches Rotes Kreuz, Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe and UNICEF Germany have been jointly appealing for donations in the event of major disasters as Aktionsbündnis Katastrophenhilfe. Together with their partners, the four organizations of Aktionsbündnis Katastrophenhilfe provide acute emergency aid.

Teams are on the ground and on their way to the earthquake-affected countries of Turkey and Syria to explore the extent of the aid needed and to help with all available means. The focus of the aid will be the supply of drinking water and food. As very many have lost their homes and due to the winter temperatures are in single digits, especially at night, tents, blankets and tarpaulins will be distributed. Furthermore, the organizations and their local partners will provide medical aid.

If you too – as a company or private individual – would like to donate to Aktionsbündnis Katastrophenhilfe you can do so here.
