Exciting final for the Use Case Award 2023: In the end, SECUINFRA won the coveted award of the Gesellschaft zur Förderung des Forschungstransfers e.V. (GFFT) in the category Cybersecurity on Tuesday evening. The decisive factor was the public vote, which was very clear with 77% of the votes cast at the final event in Mannheim, putting the security specialists led by CEO Ramon Weil in first place. Weil was able to convince the expert audience with his presentation on the topic of “Compromise Assessment”. Using a fictitious attack scenario, he showed how to specifically search for traces of attacks and how to not only reliably but also efficiently detect compromised systems.
The audience was particularly impressed by the complexity of the task. After all, it is not only necessary to scan all (mobile) systems in a company, but also to analyze the IoC (Indicators of Compromise) obtained as a result. This is very time-consuming, as there can be thousands of indicators per system. Weil emphasized that speed is just as important here as reliability. After all, in the event of a cyber attack, targeted measures must be taken immediately to minimize the damage. SECUINFRA’s approach of a permanent research for compromised systems within the framework of a Continuous Compromise Assessment received special applause from the Mannheim auditorium.

Ramon Weil accepted the Use Case Award from Dr. Gerd Große, Chairman of the Board of GFFT. The founder and CEO of SECUINFRA GmbH saw the award as a further incentive to continuously increase the cyber resilience of his customers: “If we want a plus in IT security for companies, we cannot avoid innovative solutions. The fact that we have been awarded today for our Compromise Assessment is the result of our joint work and makes me very happy for our entire team.”
