The Future of AI – SECUINFRA at OpenText World 2023

The future belongs to artificial intelligence (AI) – but not only. Because it’s the interaction between humans and AI that counts. That was the tenor of this year’s OpenText World 2023 in Las Vegas. The conference from 11. until October 12 of the manufacturer of information management solutions brought together IT specialists from around the world. This year Felix Gutjahr was on site, Cyber Defense Consultant at SECUINFRA. In addition to the new Aviator products from OpenText, the main focus for the security expert was on the technical meetups and the exchange with other OpenText specialists. But for Gutjahr, too, the importance of AI in future applications hovered over everything: “Already the keynote by OpenText CEO and CTO, Mark J. Barrenechea, made it clear where the journey is heading. In the future, AI will not only play a weighty role in all areas, but will radically change every organization and every industry. However, it won’t work without humans: Artificial intelligence will enhance human capabilities, not replace them.”

Accordingly, trade visitors were particularly eager to see the launch of opentext.ai, OpenText’s new strategic approach. It is designed to help companies harness the potential of Large Language Models to solve even complex problems. OpenText Aviator is the name of the new AI suite from OpenText that all eyes were on at the conference. Gutjahr had the possibilities of the new solutions explained to him in various breakout sessions as well as in personal demos. He was particularly interested in the applications for defense against cyber attacks. “Especially the demos on ArcSight Intelligence. were very promising, involving the detection of cyberattacks based on unsupervised machine learning. It is fascinating to see the possibilities offered by unsupervised machine learning in combination with conventional detection mechanisms. For me, it’s clear that there will be a significant increase in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence in the cybersecurity market in the coming years.” The cyberdefense specialist is therefore already looking forward to the next OpenText World in November 2024.
