BSides312 2025 in Chicago

BSides 312 25

On June 1, 2025, SECUINFRA will be represented at BSides312 in Chicago – one of the most exciting community conferences in the international cybersecurity scene. BSides312 brings together experts, researchers and enthusiasts in the THOTCON environment and offers a high-quality program in an open, authentic atmosphere. For us, one thing is clear: this event is an ideal place to share knowledge, pick up new ideas and network with the community.

We are delighted to not only be supporting BSides312 as a sponsor this year, but also to be represented on stage with our own specialist presentation. Our colleague Olivia Gallucci, Senior Security Researcher at SECUINFRA, will give a practical insight into how macOS works with her presentation “Unlocking macOS Internals: A Beginner’s Guide to Apple’s Open Source Code”. The presentation is particularly aimed at participants who are interested in reverse engineering and analyzing Apple systems – a topic that is becoming increasingly relevant due to Apple’s open source initiatives.

BSides312 is a community-organized, non-commercial security conference that takes place annually following the well-known THOTCON. The venue is the Irish American Heritage Center on the north side of Chicago. Participation is free of charge – and this is exactly what makes the event so special: the focus here is on direct exchange. Two lecture tracks, practical CTFs, lockpicking villages and interactive sessions create an environment in which specialist knowledge, creativity and shared learning can be ideally combined.

For us as a company that has specialized in cyber defence for years, BSides312 is a platform that fits perfectly with our aspirations: Sharing knowledge, promoting technical depth and actively shaping the dialog with the security community. In Chicago, we meet people who open up new perspectives, ask critical questions and work enthusiastically on security solutions for the future .

Olivia Gallucci will make a valuable contribution to the conference program with her presentation on macOS internals. She will show how Apple’s open source components can be analyzed in a targeted manner – and provide beginners with a structured guide to take their first steps in the field of system analysis and exploit research. We are proud that Olivia’s research and passion for technical depth is not only making an impact at SECUINFRA, but also internationally.

Whether in the lecture hall, at the CTF table or in casual conversation on the sidelines – we look forward to many new encounters, inspiring discussions and technical challenges. For us, BSides312 is more than just a conference: it is an expression of cybersecurity culture in action. And we are proud to be visible and actively involved in this environment.
