We look forward to SECUINFRA ‘s participation in RVAsec 2025, which is being organized by the June 3 to 4, 2025 was held at the Downtown Richmond Marriott in Richmond, Virginia. This established conference is one of the most important cybersecurity events on the east coast of the USA.
RVAsec is characterized by its varied, two-track format with three parallel tracks offering technical deep dives, manager-level presentations and practical introductory offers.
The highlights included:
- Keynotes from renowned speakers such as Christofer Hoff and Bruce Potter

The program thus offered highly topical content from threat detection, forensics, red teaming and management topics – ideal for cyber defence experts.
Our highlight: Lecture on macOS internals
One of the highlights of the program was the presentation by our colleague Olivia Gallucci, Senior Security Researcher at SECUINFRA. Under the title:
“Unlocking macOS Internals: A Beginner’s Guide to Apple’s Open Source Code”
she provided in-depth insights into Apple’s open-source operating system components. The talk was aimed at security analysts, threat hunters, forensic experts and interested IT professionals. Olivia covered the following topics:
- Architecture and core components of macOS
- Strategies for analyzing and using open Apple source code
- Practical tools and methodologies for beginners in the OS forensics context
Once again, we have shown that we really have a say when it comes to operating system transparency and security expertise – and provide macOS background information with real added value.
Impulses beyond the conference
For us, RVAsec 2025 was a source of inspiration, a wealth of knowledge and a networking platform all in one. We return motivated – with concrete impulses for macOS forensics, systemic transparency and global exchange.
We would like to thank the RVAsec team, all speakers, exhibitors and participants for this outstanding conference experience. Here’s to many more opportunities!
