How does the assessment of a security alert change when our team knows that the affected system has the exact vulnerability that an attack is targeting? For our analysts in the Security Operations Center (SOC), this information can be the deciding factor in which alert they investigate first. This is where our partnership with Tenable comes in. As a member of the Tenable Assure™ Partner Program, we are expanding our vulnerability management capabilities and integrating them more closely with our operational cyber defense. Our customers in Germany will be the first to benefit from this.
Which vulnerability takes priority?
Cloud services, hybrid infrastructures, and networked systems are expanding the attack surface for businesses. This makes it more challenging for security teams to decide which vulnerability should be addressed first. At the same time, regulatory requirements such as NIS2 and DORA are increasing the need to systematically identify risks and provide transparent justifications for decisions.
With Tenable, we are gaining a partner that specializes in exposure management. Together, we aim to help our customers identify vulnerabilities in their IT systems, assess them in the context of other risks across their attack surface, and develop concrete protective measures based on these findings. This creates a solid foundation for a decision that is often made under time pressure in day-to-day operations: Where can available specialists best allocate their time?
More Context for Round-the-Clock Attack Detection
This additional information is particularly valuable for our Managed Detection & Response (MDR) services. Since 2010, we have specialized in detecting, analyzing, and defending against cyberattacks. Our MDR teams analyze suspicious activity 24/7, 365 days a year. Insights from vulnerability management help fill in the gaps in the picture provided by an alert alone.
If our SOC and Cyber Defense and Response Center (CDRC) detect a potential attack attempt on a service, this information helps determine whether the targeted vulnerability exists in the customer’s environment. Our analysts can better assess the urgency of the investigation and search more effectively for traces of a successful attack. For the customer, this same finding also serves a preventive purpose. They can specifically address the vulnerability in question and thereby close a potential entry point. In this way, we combine the rapid detection of ongoing attacks with the continuous reduction of the attack surface.
The partnership also includes direct technical collaboration. Dedicated contacts at Tenable, technical support, and a structured knowledge transfer help us further expand our expertise in vulnerability management. We apply this knowledge where it matters most to our customers—in setting up and managing their security processes on a day-to-day basis.
