SECUINFRA strengthens cyber defense expertise with CISSP certification

From March 17 to 22, four SECUINFRA colleagues – Pascal, Merlin, Louis and Felix – took on one of the most prestigious challenges in the field of information security: the CISSP certification (Certified Information Systems Security Professional). The intensive training took place at the Firebrand Training Center in Rotenburg an der Fulda and offered comprehensive preparation for the internationally recognized exam.

Structured knowledge for the highest safety standards

The five-day training course was precisely structured thematically and combined sound theoretical knowledge with practical application.

On Monday, the group started with an introduction to the certification process and an in-depth look at the areas of security and risk management as well as asset security. Topics such as the importance of security guidelines, risk assessments and legal requirements were covered, as well as the protection of sensitive information and its lifecycle.

Tuesday was all about technology: the focus was on security architecture, cryptography and network security. The participants deepened their understanding of classic security models, forms of attack such as DDoS or spoofing and network security measures.

Wednesday continued with identity and access control as well as security assessment. In addition to single sign-on and multi-factor authentication, the focus was on penetration testing, vulnerability analysis and effective logging.

Thursday highlighted operational processes in security operations and methods for secure software development. Incident response, forensic analysis and security concepts during the software development cycle were taught in a practical way – always with a view to real threat scenarios and how to defend against them.

Friday was all about revision and targeted exam preparation. In interactive Q&A sessions, scenario training and strategy discussions on exam management, participants were able to consolidate their knowledge and close any gaps.

The CISSP exam

On the day of the exam, the four colleagues took the 125-question adaptive computer-based test (CAT). Within four hours, their knowledge of all eight CISSP domains was tested – with a focus on application, analysis and strategic thinking in security-relevant contexts

Conclusion

The CISSP training at Firebrand proved to be challenging but highly effective. It not only provided sound preparation for the demanding certification, but also strengthened our colleagues’ strategic security know-how.

Thanks to the structured content, intensive support and practical training, Pascal, Merlin, Louis and Felix are now ideally equipped to use their expertise in cyber defense in a targeted manner.

Congratulations to all participants – a strong performance in the service of cyber security!
